Towing electrics

I have fitted a PF Jones 13 pin trailer plug to my 2012 l322 all the lights work fine, with the indicator light showing on the dash when the turn signal is used?
The problem is the reversing warning buzzer is not turning off? when reverse is selected.
I have an icarsoft reader will this help me? If so how?
or will I need to get into an independent with a JLR computer?

I imagine you have to tell the car it’s got a tow bar on, but I’m not sure if it will detect it if you used the factory loom....

I assume you have the factory loom? Otherwise you might have to config the CCF and do a bit of wiring jiggery.

I’m no expert, never done it, just from what I remember reading on here...

You'll need to edit the CCF to tell it that you've installed towbar electrics and wheter it's 13 or 7 pin. At least, that's what I had to do with mine.

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

Thanks, guys that`s what I thought? I did not have to do that on my SE when I went from 7 to 13 it was just plugged and play?
I wondered if it was because it was not a genuine part? it`s only wires after all?

Tinman I fitted the same loom 13 pin from PF Jones and had the same issue with my 2011, Camtech Craig told the car it had the towing electrics when he serviced the Rangie a couple of months ago and now works as it should and now turns the sensors off when hitched up.

This is interesting. I've got two fatties, both now fitted with towbars. Fatty 1 has clearly not been told it has a towbar fitted, the dash indicator flasher doesn't work and the reversing buzzer doesn't turn off. However, Fatty 2 has only recently had a towbar fitted and the indy that fitted it told the car that it has a towbar. The dash indicator flasher does work, but the reverse warning buzzer doesn't turn off. Both are 13 pin electrics, the second is a PF Jones loom, no idea about the first but it's been wired in from first principles, for some reason the plug and play hasn't been used. Drives:

This is what I thought, The car needs to be told that it has a towing kit? What is confusing is that if it`s OEM it`s plug and play if not then the car has to be told? how strange.
Can anyone tell me if it can be configured with an icarsoft that can do the job or would I be better off getting a Gap IID tool?
Or an Indy trip?

An IID will pay for itself many times over and retain its value.
I had an icarsoft for a short period of time and bought at an IID when I realised I did the wrong thing.
App driven, Bluetooth and way easier to use.
