Decorative engine cover silver stripes flaked off

Has anyone else had trouble with the silver paint on the plastic engine cover flaking off? I am on my second engine cover and all seem to have the silver stripes flaking off! 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Yeah, mine's pretty dire. Not yet found/seen any solutions. Don't fancy shelling out for a new one but painting plastic in a hot engine bay is always likely to be iffy. Mike - MPx
