137,540 on the clock now. Still largely behaving its self, I'm still looking for another one...!

I even washed it the other day.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

Yesterday I had to call the old girl into service as a working vehicle, sadly a couple of customers were changing providers and I needed to collect our equipment which I would not have been able or willing to fit in the Model S so it was either hire a van or chance the 315 mile round trip - I chose to take the risk. I need not have worried, the car was faultless all day with not a single warning beep/bong.

The reason why I had some concerns was purely that for the last few years of my ownership and its previous owner the car has done around 1500 miles a year and for me the most its ever done is 100 miles so it felt like quite a big ask!

Cruising at 65-70 and the speed limit on A roads saw a frankly absurd claimed fuel economy of 25.9mpg, out of curiosity I went back to the petrol station to fill it and see what it had actually managed - A genuine 23.5mpg which is better than its official figures!

It will complete a return trip to Glasgow next week thus doubling the mileage covered since last October!

A few weeks ago the car became eligible for its annual Ministry Test, I like to do them as early as possible although there really is little point as if they do fail they should not be driven - technically.

Anyway, no advisories last year, 1800 miles in the last 12 months, imagine my shock when they tell me all the brake lines and flexis are no good. The MOT place I use were fully booked for other work for weeks but in a stroke of luck another garage I have used had had a no show that morning and were able to take the old girl.

Now all repaired for a not inconsiderable sum, its been retested ready for another year of doing very little!

Currently 138,620 on the clock 2005 E60 M5

Sadly I have sold this one tonight, a friend has been wanting to buy it for a while and I gave in. He needed a cheap tow vehicle - so I'm on the look out for another newer one. 2.5 years is a reasonable time to own it I think and its not really caused much bother. It had done 139,095 miles when it drove away. Fair well old girl!

Haha yes I’ve been looking at that. Sadly beyond my budget I think although it is a beautiful car still. I should sell my E60 M5 I don’t ever drive it but I just can’t bring my self to. 2005 E60 M5
