Option - 6 x silicon hoses on eBay (there are six hoses in all!)

Hi

Sorry to drag up an old post. Is there a how to guide on the inlet hoses? Struggling to remove, unless whole inlet donut needs to come off? Much easier on a 3.6! 😩

Any recommendations on supplier for hoses and if not a kit what size is required?

IIRC the donut needs to come out to change the 11MY 4.4TDV8 hoses. It's not a difficult job but there are a few things to take care around.

Hoses can be replaced with silicon ones I believe.

Search on the forum for the donut hoses, MAP cleaning and silicon hose replacement. I don't think the Wiki has a how to as such but there are several threads on here where the work has been done. If I have some time later I'll search about.

Have you bought a 2011 4.4 or are you helping someone as your profile reads a 2007? Just curious. Whistle Cheers

Thanks, you’re right the donut does need to come off. Fiddle little blighter it is too!

Now to sort some silicone pipe out, will have to wait til tomorrow as nowhere local open that stocks it.

Good spot on the profile, updated now, albeit Indus Silver not an option maybe rare!?

Any other hoses worth replacing with silicone while I’m in there?

Not too sure about the availability of other silicon hoses, but someone may be along with that info.

While it's apart, clean the throttle body insode to make sure it will stay free to move (can cause the gearing to strip, then it's a new unit), the MAP sensor on the top of the donut inlet and clean the donut itself(cr***y job).

Have a good look at the turbo oil feed connection at the rear of the oil cooler, and perhaps change the two o rings for new vitol ones while you're in there. Details in a thread on here.
