TDV6 Hybrid Unknown engine Fault - Help!?

Hi all,

New to the forum and looking for help..

I've had a few RR over the years so definitely know what i'm letting myself in for.

Not long owned a L405 2015 TDV6 Hybrid 40k miles - It has been an absolute mega vehicle but has recently developed an intermittent fault.

I've attached links to the video of the fault:

it mainly happens when the vehicle is cruising around 50mph constant speed. The vehicle will power through the fault but it comes back as soon as you are off the throttle. It doesnt show up any error codes or reduced performance. The fault makes the engine and whole car judder quite aggressively.

Just wondering if any one has seen anything like this before?

Thanks for reading & any advice you can give.

My guess would be a leaking injector seal, that would be my starting point. 2021 L405 Vogue D300

That’s an odd one, it’s almost like it’s building a little then losing boost, could be a sticky wastegate actuator, as you can power through it I would suspect not fuelling, something on the air and turbo side. Not sure where the turbos are on the V6 and I know it’s tight in the engine bay but given the age and relatively low mileage a suspect something somewhere is leaking slightly or sticking slightly, something probably wants freeing up or tightening up…. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Is it under warranty ? If so find one of the better dealers and let them take a look...

I thought turbo as well due to that video, but why is it doing it at idle and turbo failure should not cause the car to shudder...hence why I thought it may be a fuelling issue. I have heard injector chuffing before on a Focus diesel, best to get it checked out as it can damage an engine over time.

To infrequent to be an injector, at 800 rpm an injector would chirp twice a second on a v6. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
