2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

I have got 2 faults permanently showing on my iid.

They have both been present for several years, but since the car is running well, I have just accepted them.

The second is the well documented EGR sensor fault that Greg has told us all how to fix, but it is the first fault that I am trying to sort.

The CSOV valve was replaced before the fault appeared and is still in good working order.

Any ideas ??

Boost air re circulation solenoid ????

I can’t find any other mention of it and haven’t got a clue where it could be, or what it does.

Mike, i put 'Boost air re circulation solenoid' into google and it came up with a fair bit of info..way over my understanding of engines but probably you'd know.. ... - .- -.

Stan, you have cracked it, my hero
Having read several posts on Google, I have now recognised the solenoid and know exactly what the problem is.

Main dealers ,

I can actually see the problem, but have just got to work out how to get to it to fix it.
I can’t even get a decent photo, but this will help me explain…..

At the very top of the picture you will see the shiny new CSOV valve that was replaced under warranty when the original was jammed stuck and causing restricted performance.

The solenoid is just to the left of it and the electrical socket can be seen with no plug in it.
The harness is very short and I can see the plug that they either forgot to re-fit or it has fell off.

I just need to work out how to reconnect it.
Probably going to have to get it up high, remove the undertray and hopefully hook something round the plug and pull it back into the socket.

Update / correction…
It isn’t a very short wire, in fact quite a bit of slack that was trapped.
I have managed to free it using a telescopic rod, but I can’t make anything suitable to re- connect it and I am not sure what I will gain when I get the undertray off, but that will have to wait until the weather improves .

Use one of those long reach gripping tools maybe? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I have just been looking on eBay Rob, but haven’t seen anything suitable yet. The plug is about 5/8” wide.

The whole unit was changed by the supplying MD under warranty, 4-5 years ago.
