Misbehaving deplorable side steps.

Sorry back again.
The electric side steps have developed a mind of their own. Sometimes comes out and stays, sometimes half way then immediately back in, sometimes nothing happens. Help please.

Ours did the half way and return thing, just need a clean and grease. Assumed being a little stiff the controller thought they were bottoming out. They haven’t done it since in probably 10 months. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

OK thanks for that, as a coincidence I was just reading that on another forum. If it has a stiff mechanism due to dirt etc it will just retract as a failsafe. So WD40 and silicone spray tomorrow. Many thanks.
