I have had a detachable towbar fitted
But when I put the car in reverse I don’t get the guide line option for the tow hitch
How is this enabled or is it only for the electrically deployable ones

Interested to see the answer to this as I think my FFRR should have Tow Assist too but I've not been able to get it to 'appear' - My electrics work for towing (fitted by a third party) but I think I need a dealer-enabling thing as my PDC sensors also don't disable when reversing - it knows a trailer is attached but still gives a constant beep which is annoying (especially when the mute button just makes it a bit quieter!) FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

tow bar assist would need to be turned on in the car config file using a suitable diagnostic tool, there is also a setting for tow bar fitted

When I had my 3rd party detachable tow bar fitted had to have Tow Assist enabled by the local dealers. I now get the the hitch line and camera zoom function when you change the camera settings - makes hitching up less stressful and not starting our holidays with an argument with the trouble and strife you also get the revering lines if you put your trailer details in and add the reversing target

Interested of anyone can tell me the correct settings I need to select in the IID tool for this.

I’ve hooked up my trailer tent for the first time today and I’ve had a play with a couple of settings in the CCF but I can’t seem to get the reversing sensors to disable. 2011 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 Orkney Grey

The Car needs to be told it has the tow bar fitted.
Assuming; the correct modules have been fitted with the tow bar or are already in place next to the secondary battery.

All the modules were in place when I fitted the "farmers" tow hitch/frame late last year.
The wee green trailer symbol flashed along with the indicators at this point.
Yet the tow hitch guidance and tow ball zoom could not be selected on the camera settings and the rear detectors remained operative.
The car still had to be told everything was now connected, via a quick trip to my local indie MickMoore, who kindly obliged FOC.
