Roof tray/basket setup with fixed points for 2011 L322

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out how to setup my L322 with a full length roof tray (see example photo) however I can't figure out how to do this as the likes of Thule, Yakima, Rhino, etc no longer support this vehicle. Unfortunately all the examples I can find online are all US-based and I can't imagine how much it would cost to ship a whole roof tray over to the UK from there.

Would love to know what other people's setups are and what parts they used. Ideally I'd like to make use of the 6 built-in fixing points on the car for aesthetic reasons but I'm not overly precious about it.

Thanks and I hope everyone is well.

Thanks for the responses.

From what I understand, I need the feet pack that fits into the fixed points on the roof. And to this, you attach the cross bars that go with those feet. And to the cross bars, you attach the compatible tray.

I guess my problem is that I can’t find the feet pack that fits into the fixed points on the roof hence can’t find the bars or tray that would all fit together.

Or have I completely got the setup wrong?

This is the setup I’m looking for however slightly cheaper and a more modern flatter style.

Not on my car, but I saw A. L322 parked up somewhere quite a while ago and noted the manufacturer because it looked so neat but strong and obviously made to measure .
I want to stress that I have no further connection or knowledge of the company, but they are certainly worth a phone call.

There was a post on here a while back where someone had a good roof rack custom made at a keen price for a ford, may have been a Blue mondeo. Apparently bought for lugging building materials? Names that come to mind of the postee are Dhallwoth or Haylands, not sure. But if you can find this, then that may be the way to go.

Someone will have a better memory then me Whistle

Failing that, the above post looks interesting, if you can't make it yourself, these folks look like experts on the subject.

No supplier will have stock of these, despite lisitng on their websites and they definitely cannot be ordered in as that site says.

That one on ebay is way over priced in my opinion but they are rare so I suppose worth chancing his arm.

Regarding the feet, I drew up the feet from my rack :

https://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/u...Spacer.pdf

I take no responsibility for the accuracy of the drawing so use at your own risk. Oh, and you need 6 washers not 4. Smile

They wont work with a flat rack as the genuine one follows the roof curve. Wouldn't be difficult to amend the vertical dimensions to get them all to the same height if you have a straight edge though... Thumbs Up Bish.

Hello all. Thanks for all your messages and advice. Truly appreciated.

In the end I decided to go for the Front Runner Slimline II system. I wasn't having any luck with the official Range Rover rack and also I preferred something lower profile.

Here is the visual (just replace the G Wagon with an L322): https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/u...r-kit.html

IF anyone is interested I'm happy to provide the individual parts needed and their codes.

That looks great! I’m not sure we are able to get that brand in the UK. Was it easy to install? How is the wind noise when driving at speed?

Don't know but should be possible to find a dealer in the UK.

https://www.trekoverland.com/collections/expedition/Roof-Racks

They don't have Eezi-Awn roof racks as far as I can see, but they do have the roof tents.

Very easy to install, mostly since I already had the load bars from Eezi-Awn and just replaced those with the rack.

Much less wind noise than with the load bars. The rack actually has a spoiler underneath in the front of the rack to deflect the wind. But it also depends on how fast you are going. Here in Germany when hitting 160-180 km/h on the Autobahn...yes, I can hear it Wink ----------------
