United States 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black
2015 Autobio - Rear Shocks from AB?

I recently ordered rear shocks from Atlantic British, and I called and spoke to them to make sure I received the proper shocks for my VIN.

Now the problem is their two part numbers, LR098788 and LR098795 are listed on their website as fitting Supercharged V8s, but when you google the numbers the land rover sites that pop up all show these two numbers to fit v6s, and specifically say NOT Supercharged, NOT Autobio.

AB has reassured me these are the same shocks and that they do have CVD and it will not matter. I have installed a set of shocks on my last L405 and it is very time consuming (back seat removal). Before I take their word and install these, and then get angry because something is not what it should be, can anyone here verify that there is no difference in all the different part numbers for the rear shocks on an L405, save damping or not?

The dealer says part LR034266 and LR034271 are the correct shocks, but I know these numbers get superseded all of the time.

Also, I am seeing these two part numbers as correct for my Autobio:
LR098786 (replaces LR034266)
LR098792 (replaces LR034271)

i kinda think these will be ok and i know it would be a hassle if they are not correct but you could always return them to the seller.... ... - .- -.

I think they will work, no doubt. My only concern is the ride quality, if the shocks are tuned differently between the V6 and V8s, or if Autobio is somehow tuned for a heavier ride.

i dont think they are tuned, as the part number when entered into google comes up with L405 and L494 [sport] models so i reckon they are universal .. ... - .- -.

I have found the real difference is between Supercharged vs Non-supercharged. The part numbers from Atlantic British, used in a google search, pull up both L405 and L494, even 5.0L models. But they all say non-supercharged.

It would be nice to use these from AB but for some reason I feel like the Supercharged vehicles probably have physically different shock internals (springs/gas pressure) to make them ride a bit more sporty (which I like).

Right, that is what I thought too. But apparently there was a model sold in 2013 (not sure where) that came normally aspirated.

Alright, after much research by Nathan today, we have determined that the AB shocks will NOT be correct for Supercharged or Autobio models.

He found that LR says the shocks listed for Supercharged models have "reinforcement." I read that as they probably have more gas or a stronger spring inside the shock's body.

I am glad to have the issue resolved and I have nothing but great things to say about Atlantic British. They took the time to do the research and make things right.

Thank you stan for your responses.

I hope this post helps someone in the meantime, who may be ordering rear shocks.
