Battery dating? (SOLVED)

Having previously had a 2015 Discovery Sport that struggled to open the tailgate and it was diagnosed the battery was no good.... My Range Rover is struggling with the top and bottom tailgate as well as the sidesteps so I guess I'm in that position all over again. I've got it on trickle charge tonight to see if that improves things in the morning but whilst my Warranty is still fresh is there some way of dating the battery to see if its the original 7 year old one that needs replaced? Even tried LR customer service for advice who sent me a website link to a JDPower advice page which was useless. The only numbers I can see are on the sticker top which just tell me the battery type, but perhaps the numbers on the terminal mean something to someone???

There should be some more reference numbers some where for the date stamp, they are usually etched into the case and not on the label. The numbers on the label are just part numbers.

Stan comes through again, well done Sir!

After another internet search by pure luck I came across this on a Jaguar forum...

So that answers that, one year old so I'll give it a good trickle charge and see how I go tomorrow.

Many thanks again.

In case anyone is interested I put the trickle charge on the battery whilst it was still connected to the car electrics for pretty much three full days. Last time I did this on my Discovery it took a full day to eventually show the green charged LED but on this beast its a different story. My trickle charger never went to green so I guess its still not "full" but whilst its connected to the car its going to be an issue drawing amps and I don't really want to fully disconnect it and tempt any electric gremlins now the weather is turning colder. The car starts and stops fine and all the electrics do as they should. The only issue is the deployable steps and rear hatch which all work erratically but there's plenty of history on this site of similar issues so I know I'm in good company. Smile
