Autoglass here we go again

Took insurance out with Admiral, asked them at the time about glass replacements being genuine and was told that isn’t a problem, need a new windscreen abs been told Admirals underwriters won’t cover a genuine replacement screen as my car is over 3 years old Censored told them I’m not accepting anything other than a pilkington screen I’m not fussed about the land rover emblem, they will get back to me, not a happy bunny today, 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

Admiral record all of their sales calls, ask them to go and listen to the call where you accepted the policy to confirm what you were told Smile

Insurers have to retain calls for seven years for compliance purposes. Unlikely they have lost it Christian.

I’m with admiral and had the front screen done a few months ago by Autoglass. Asked for Pilkington and no problem other than a six week delay while they sourced one. 2008 s/c.

It would be a great help if anyone who has had a genuine screen replaced recently by autoglass could put the month it was fitted as well as the year of the car, a list like this could be invaluable for anyone trying to get a genuine screen fitted as proof others have had them fitted, 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

They fitted a non-OEM one to my 2016 VSE, despite asking for an OEM and kicking up a fuss but the wait was too long.

It took them 3 attempts as the screens were scratched from new. The screen, whilst not Pilkington, is actually much clearer in regards to the HUD reflection and you’d never guess other than not having a pilk/LR emblem.

My main issue is I had two non oem screen fitted to my previous discovery, the heater lines were much more viewable, the black around the edge was misshaped, not good screens at all 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

Odd how the degree of service from Autoglass seems to vary. I had a new screen fitted by them a couple of years ago. Contacted them to arrange replacement, they turned up next day with a Pilkington screen without being prompted and fitted it without issue. Made a really good job of it. The only problem was getting one of the wipers off the spindle, the fitter ruined his puller getting it off.
I suggest people remove the wipers and refit them with copper grease to avoid this. Thumbs Up

Managed to find this

the 43R-001588 is the Pilkington Part number (maybe univeral model number across different manufacturer's), The DOT 0682 is the manufacturing location per the post above, the M1260-1 is the key part, the first 1 is Laminated, the 2 is green tint, the 60 is the glass thickness (6mm), the final -1 means it has an accoustic PVB layer installed. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE
