Help identifying vibration noise

Hi all and happy new year!

I´ve posted before on this issue but it is yet to be resolved.

I have a vibration noise coming in at 1000-1200 rpm under load. It seems to be worse when it is wet and cold outside.

It has recently gotten worse and I managed to catch it on video this morning

There is some belt squealing as well but you will clearly hear the noise at 8, 12 and 24 second marks of the video.

My indy has already had a look about 6 months ago and tightened a bunch of heat shields but it has only gotten worse.

Any help here is very much appreciated!

cheers

Sounds like the gearbox heat shield, easy fix if it is

OP I have exactly the same noise that I have been unable to fix either - what is it about the heat shield that typically goes wrong?

The shield can crack but it could also just be a loose/stripped mounting screw as its only held on with 6 (I think) bolts.
It could be caused by a ham fisted idiot doing a gearbox oil change - it was with mine.

Sounds more like there is a grizzly bear stuck under there. 2003 4.4 V8 Vogue. Oslo Blue.

@cass; thanks for the tip and your explanation would make perfect sense. There is actually a small misting of oil around the gear box after they did a service 2 years ago. it´s not enough to do anything about but they guy who did it probably did not know what he was doing....

@oilee; I will grab a shotgun and have a look in the morning just to rule it out RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - 11
