JLR Warranty

Just had my 2014 car in for the extended warranty inspection and guess what, it failed. Rolling Eyes

Service light, I know it needs an oil change, so no issues.

ACE fluid pipes leaking, apparently all of them Confused but £537.61 to sort doesn't seem that bad, as fluid is about £85. But going to get my Indie to have a look next week, when he does the oil change and service light re-set.

And now for the sting in the tail.
Exhaust centre section heatshield loose: £5729.51 Censored
Apparently it needs a DPF an possibly ACT and some other pipes and bolts.
So that figure is worst case, but even so.

Anyone else had a loose heat shield?

Again going to get my Indie to investigate and get the welder out I think.

They need to drop the exhaust and your bolts will look like they have been under water fitted to the Mary rose by the time the car is 5yrs old! Literally will be held together by the rust from where the bolts/nuts once were!

Ask your MD for some pics of the exhaust fittings sir 🙏

Its a heatshield around the DPF

Obviously, the dealer won't be able to repair it, and it needs replacing Rolling Eyes

Find a decent specialist, and you can save yourself about £5,700 of that cost Whistle

Don't worry, it's off to the Indie next Monday.

I've pre-warned him to get the welder ready Thumbs Up
