Cheers Thumbs Up

Finished the full driver’s seat tonight but it takes time and patience (using sponge applicator method). It has taken hours to try and do it properly.

Really looking forward to doing the passenger seat, not Rolling Eyes

Don’t you get overspray in the cabin if you use the spray gun?

Good luck with the passenger seat. Just keep telling yourself it will be worth it Laughing

No, no overspray with the air brush. Obviously you need to mask up next to where you're painting, but other than that, there's no need. The airbrush is very fine, it's not like spraying with an aerosol or paint gun. Kev

Thanks chaps Thumbs Up

I’ll do the passenger seat with the sponge seeing as that’s how the driver’s seat was done… next time, it’ll be the spray gun though Laughing

Here are the passenger seat results achieved by sponge application. Really pleased with the results, the images may not do it justice, it’s come up like new. Been told that it’s a more professional finish than someone got when paying a specialist a premium to do it. It doesn’t matter what anyone tells you though, you will know when looking at your own finish if you’re happy with it or not because that’s what matters.

This was achieved by sponge application of 3 coats (or 3 passes) on the seat base and 2 coats (or 2 passes) on the seat bolsters and seat back. Be warned though, this took many hours and was something to be done with patience and in bite size chunks Thumbs Up

(The ‘dent’ you can see in the leather here was just temporary from where I’d been leaning on the seat back whilst applying paint)
