I'm looking for a cost effective alloy refurb for the Mrs BMW, all 4 are in a dreadful state and I need it to look good for sale, not bothered if it lasts one year or less!

Wicked Wheels are handy as they come out and do them on site and its £70 per wheel. Having never had wheels done myself I don;t know if that's good or bad.


I'm in Leicestershire if anyone knows anyone local.

try spit and polish ....also what size wheels are they on the bmw as that makes a big differance on price is its normally around £40-£50 where i live "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"

They are too far away, I'd spend more on couriers or fuel to get the wheels to them in Tonbridge.

When choosing who you use, ask if they take the tyres off and shotblast the old paint and grime off the wheel, before they paint or powdercoat the whole wheel (and not just the outside).

Some of these SMART repairers (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) only mask off the tyres and spray the part of the wheel you can see (I spent a day at the bodyshop HQ of a SMART repairer). Within a year or two the paint around the rim will probably start to crack and peel.

I have a friend (yes, honestly - just the one) who has his own powder coating company and he shotblasts and powder coats the whole wheel. He charges around £65 per wheel (you pay to have the tyre removed). He did mine on my FFRR.
