Cant wait for the L460

It will soon be time for me to buy a 405 once the 460 starts to ship I always seem to buy just after a model launches and then keep them forever Smile

A very sensible buyer!! And I tell you what, the L405 is a fantastic vehicle, it really is. I am going to delay driving the L460 for as long as possible so as not to spoil my enjoyment since I know it will be a step up. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Having now driven several different versions of the new model, it doesn’t feel a step up from the L405, you will disappointed, as I was. Despite a new stiffer chassis, a supposed 24% improvement in noise transmission and the noise cancelation, it is not markedly more refined than the L405. The interior disappoints, especially the movement to a screen and it’s add on look. The interior of the L405 is better integrated. The new steering wheel is a backward step too. Unless you go for the 24 way seats, the standard seats are lacking in shoulder and head support.

It will sell well I am sure, but objectively it is not the step forward I expected, I will stick with my L405.

The reality of diminishing returns. Never going to be a step change.

Interesting….. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Saw my first one on the road today. Looked pretty nice.

I’m sure it’s a lovely thing. But personally will be keeping my 405 for another couple of years, given that it doesn’t really do much apart from get washed and drive about 50 miles a week….. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I think I will be moving to a late L405 in a couple of years as the L460 rollout unwinds - should be some good value high spec ones coming on the market and in dealers I would think about then.

Would love an L460 however I thought that the L405 was an expensive motor and the L460 take it on a level Laughing L405 4.4 V8 Vogue SE Santorini Black

Just a question from a self confessed Luddite, have JLR sorted the DPF problem in the 460? Having to take the RR for a long drive just to get to a motorway or suitable stretch of dual carriage way to clear the DPF doesn't seem a sensible use of fuel to me, one of the reasons I chose a 3.6 over a 4.4, saving the planet starts with not taking unnecessary journeys. Greta will no doubt approve of not driving for an hour just to clear the one object on the car designed to clean the atmosphere... but then again she probably thinks the RR is the transportation method of the devil.
