Just had mine done last week, apparently it’s quite a common problem, cost me 1400€!

Oh dear. Can they be reconditioned? Does anyone know the part number? |

Sounds like a Mcpherson strut.

Cheers but is this part for the 2011 with the adaptive dynamic suspension? From what I've read and spoken to an indy, this model is the more expensive part. I just don't want to get the wrong one. |

Hi Stuart. Do a search for just the air bag. They are about £300ish.

The air system is the springs, the adaptive bit is the shockers/dampers. So the air spring can be changed separately, but like normal best practice it tends to get replaced in pairs, but that’s obviously up to you.

Hi Stuart. I’ve done quite a few of these, you’ll probably find you had the leak first which caused the compressor to overwork then give up.

Seems to be about the right age for this to happen if they are the original struts, judging from my own experience and other feedback on here. My 2011 5.0 S/C developed a slow leak in the front right strut just before COVID, a couple of days after I'd been using it in offroad/extended height, which clearly caused the bag to flex in a place where the rubber was longer very flexible!

Had the same. Changed just the air bag with a kit from Advanced Factors. Strut was not replaced. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Cheers. Is this the correct one for a 2011?

Or would it be easier with this? They're not far from me so I could pick up. I know it's Dunlop but I'm not planning on keeping the car. It's being traded in.

Part turned up today. Does anyone have a video on how to change the bag on the VDS one? Cheers. |

Update. Bag changed and no leak. A small issue though ;
