Spoke to my dealer today, I have a SWB HSE PHEV on order, it was around our colour selection (can’t make our mind up) he seemed confident as it’s phev it will be committed to a build slot within the next 3 -4 months and wanted us to have the colour decision made ready.

Taking it with a pinch of salt or the cynic in me says manufacturer might prioritise lower emission variants to help their annual emission target figures?

Not sure about the emissions.

You certainly don't need to make your decision about colour any time soon - Not until about 4-6 weeks before your build date..

You're literally ages away from that (as am I).

I paid my deposit back in October, I don't expect to see my PHEV until the end of the year - Yours will be a 23MY, so if you're lucky, you'll get it just before Christmas.

My thoughts too tbh, I will be happy with March 1st 2023 collection. In all the LRs I have purchased over the years never had to lock spec down until a few weeks before build. Guess they might be wanting more time to organise supply chain logistics but not a year.

I think it's just the dealer RDR..... As you rightly say, a few weeks prior to build is the norm, unless you're going for a non-standard colour.

Just tell him your preferred colour for now, you can easily change it later - He'll soon move on to something else.

RDR, when did you place your order I wonder?

I ordered a SWB HSE 440e early Feb and was quoted 'as late as March 2023' . Hoping we may have a bit more clarity on lead times by end July when i need to decide on extending my current lease.

I suspect it will come down to availability of components as to which cars they build when.

I signed up for mine mid February, I think it will come down to supply chain logistics and chosen spec. I follow the defender forum and the experience there indicates no fathomable rhythm or reason to when cars are built. People have been waiting best part of a year then others get theirs in a few months.

Just a thought…. There may be some new buildings slots available as JLR have suspended shipments to Russia. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. We deposited a PHEV in Oct’ - then went to dealer launch in early Jan and provisionally spec’d the car and left the order with the salesman.

Has anyone had anymore updates, ideas on delivery etc ?

Tia

Interesting idea about Russia deliveries. Who knows.

Same as 7 CDB, we deposited last October and spec'd / signed order the same day the prices were announced. Nothing from dealer yet, but I haven't been chasing him. I'm pretty much resigned to it being a long, long wait. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Do you think that the russian / ukrainian war effects delivery time? Ford and BMW are already slowing down their production since they do not get specific cables produced in ukraina..

I think the Russia comments were due to LR not selling any products into Russia therefore potentially freeing up some slots for other countries. in 2021 6,900 vehicles were sold to Russia but that was across the whole range but also during a time when chip shortages were really slowing availability of vehicles. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I placed my deposit on 15th Feb and my delivery time on my confirmation was stated as Feb 2024. 😱

My dealer was allocated its first customer spec build slots this week - they’re due for delivery in May

My dealer said that some customer spec SEs had been slotted but no ABs had yet. FWIW

This is contrary to how an LR rep told me it would be done. He said higher spec cars would come first as there was more profit in them, which makes sense. It suggests that some parts that higher spec cars have may be in short supply thus causing delays.

Spoke to my dealer again yesterday as I realised I had forgot the spare wheel option. He said some customers with standard lower spec orders were getting slotted with tentative delivery May/June. I know they were struggling with items such as HUD and Tow packs on other models I expect the same modules are used on the Range Rover. Definitely think it will come down to exact spec chosen over order date.
