Hi,

I test drove a 5.0 with low mileage and when first accelerating you could hear a ticking coming from the drivers side - around the right of the steering wheel. I believe the noise went away as the revs got higher. It seemed most noticeable when you very gently press the accelerator.

I couldn't hear this noise when outside the car or standing next to the bonnet and it doesnt sound as prominent as the early 5.0 chain tensioner issues.

Were the chain issues resolved in the later models?

Would appreciate any thoughts on the above.

If it was the timing chain ticking I’m pretty certain it’d not be audible in the car.

Could be a sticking valve 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Well I purchased the car as it had Land Rover warranty, took it to Land Rover and they very quickly diagnosed it as the supercharger bearing.
I presume a known issue given how quickly they diagnosed and how confident they are in their diagnosis. Just waiting for parts.

Anyone else had this?
The sound does seem to come and go. Rather odd, hopefully this will fix it.

There was a chain tensioner issue with some of the L322's. My 2011 had them replaced.
