Hiya Dave it was very easy to split the light unit. I used a heat gun instead of going down the oven route. GSXRdave advised me to use a heat gun, it worked very well indeed. Just remove the 6 retaining clips and heat the gap between the lens and unit and use a flathead screwdriver to gently prise the len's away. I heated all around the gap of the unit first. Don't be afraid, it won't melt, i used the gun on a slow speed at number 8 heat. Then just unscrew the inner surround from the lens and remove. 20-30 minutes max to remove lens and replace. I didn't bother to reseal mine as it was just a crappy light to experiment on. Hope this helps?
