Just lost a bet

Weird day!

Was talking with a colleague who’s 60 this year and over lunch he bet me that he could remember the registration of every car he had, 39 vehicles all in. So I said yes, the stake being a bottle of red wine.

He grinned at me and reeled off a single number plate! Embarassed

I hadn’t realised he had a private plate since he was 18!

To finish off wife told me my surprise birthday present is a private plate….now I’m worried, if I’m in the bad books god knows what it’ll say! And if I’m in the good books it could be worse!?! L322 TD6 2003

I’m of a similar age and whilst I haven’t had 39 vehicles in that time, just the 15, I recall the reg nos of all of them, as well as my parents cars going back to when I was a nipper. I’ve had a private plate since my 40th, birthday pressie from SWMBO.

30 cars and bikes. Can remember them all except the first bike...and the original reg nos of all those I've put a private plate on. Plus a handful of my folks cars from when I was a nipper - but lots more of theirs that I've forgotten. I must get out more... Mike - MPx

I've had around 50 cars since I passed my test in '95 and can remember them all - including the original reg of cars I've transferred cherished plates to...

I too can remember most of my parents cars from down the years as well....

It's like some sort of pointless superpower! Laughing Andrew.

I remember when we had to remember phonenumbers. An increasingly irrelevant skill in these modern times, but I wonder if it imparted some form of mental dexterity. If so, I wonder what the modern equivalent is, if any. Rap lyrics?

I suspect SNA1L is worth a fair amount!

Think it’ll be three letters, initials or first letter for each in the family. Did see a Defender the day before yesterday with HAM1

If it’s LUV or something mushy I’ll need lots of dark tinting to hide my blushes😂 L322 TD6 2003
