ULEZ expansion

For those living in greater London and those who travel to and from - anybody else alarmed at the potential expansion area?!
I cannot believe this could be given the green light, ive finally found a car im happy with and was happy to keep for many more years and now im potentially having to contemplate getting rid because simply driving it will cost a crazy sum of money!!!

cant stand Kahn

anybody else thinking the same? 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

And that's why I have a 4.2 petrol. Costs a fortune in petrol but saves me from dopey nugget Khan.

Ulez has always been a money making scheme and nothing else.

Absolutely.

I did look at the petrols, but I don’t think I can stomach the fuel cost, the derv is already doing £150 a week 😂 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

To be honest mate I use it as a second vehicle most of the time now. I use the bike for my day to day stuff as the car costs me £180 to fill up and that's just not going too happen. I can make the fuel last generally a week n half but still pretty costly

This is my daily and I don’t have room for a second car, as the Mrs has her car and we only have two parking spots, plus shelling out for another ULEZ compliant car is a few quid on its own, this bloke has really shafted a few people 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

As with all these expansions, all the registered vehicles in the new area have a 5 year period to upgrade/change or decide to keep the vehicle they have and then start paying the charge after this time. Thumbs Up

TDV8 Paul sorry it should have read they COULD give a 5 year period were you can upgrade or change your car after that period you start paying. Not that you get it. Sorry. Embarassed

That way it does give you options to change your car, keep it and pay, sell it or even move house, moving house is a bit far though. It's a way of them getting their hands in your pocket. Evil or Very Mad

There was a area around Manchester that was going live in May but it's been put on hold for the time being.

i will fall into the new expanded area should it go ahead. however, i wonder how on earth it it going to be policed. the amount of cameras needed to cover the boundary, will be ridiculous... plus all the drivers within the area, as long as they don't cross the boundary wouldn't be seen.. (apart from old boundary cameras) So, unless there are cameras literally everywhere, how would it work? . and for the few thousand vehicles that would remain ULEZ chargeable.... would this be a waste of money, to even try to police... knowing that these vehicles would eventually die out (at least a good few of them) so the revenue, will always be falling, and that means the outlay, would never be recovered. maybe he will only fit them on main through roads... which will make canny short-hop motorists, work out a rat-run of a route to avoid a daily charge, to do their short journeys....

I drive along the south circular and north circular quite a bit as it is. They've got cameras on pretty much every single road into the inner side of the North and south circular so that's how they will pick you up. When it expands which it will coz the government don't care about the public all they will do then is just put up more cameras on the outer sides.

The cameras are all ready there, the low emissions zone is any where inside the M25 and we've had that for a long time. They will just use them as ULEZ cameras.

Iv sold my P38 V8 to some one up north because I won't be able to keep and use it....bought a 4.2 supercharged instead. Its a sport I'm not a fan but feck that midget kharn in his armour range rover.

Makes me laugh that both my range rovers I've owned that struggle to even see 15mpg seem too be allowed but yet my vectra diesel that done 50mpg and my saab hot areo that done 30mpg are not compliant. That really says its just a money making scheme

Don't count on boundary cameras; when they expanded to the A406 boundary they have put cameras literally everywhere inside the zone.
So I expect nothing less if they get the M25 extension though.

PLEASE EVERYONE fill in the survey
https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/cleanair

And email your MP, your Councillors and Grant Schapps. shappsg@parliament.uk

They will go ahead unless there is strong opposition.
Even then London's mayor seems to do whatever he wants but please fill it in.

. Cheers, Greg

Early stages for whole Uk road driving tolls. This GOV will even tax you for having a car even though it’s never driven on the road.
ie you own it we tax it

Am I right, thinking that the l322 TDV8 4.4 engine, that came out in 2010, became the SDV8 same size engine in l405 model, in 2013, and -then evolved into the post 2015 engine, that is euro6 compliment… thus passing Ulez certification… I guess the DPF became an adblue system… I wonder if there’s a way of getting Ulez compliance to older tdv8 4.4 engines…
