I have been having intermittent problems with my sidesteps that don't always work. Presently the passenger side is working 90% of the time but the drivers side typically comes out about 2 inches and goes back in again. All looks clean and tidy under the car and I have tried to squirt some WD-40 in to the hinge assembly but it hasn't made a difference.

One opens the boot lid, the other resets the side step, works for me. I find that if it thinks that I have been off roading, which translates to a few pot holes, it just shuts duwn. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.
