st Tropez trip

Just drove to the south of france for a wedding . Great trip everything dead easy. The 405 is a stand out car in the south, & the FFRR is not so common.

St Tropez is not for me, spent some time nearer Marseilles , much calmer.

Waze is a must, saved me twice. Flashed once whilst not operating Waze .

Booked a hotel on the way back as a stopover in champagne area, quite reasonable for the suite.. so I pushed the boat out. I hadn’t noticed the restaurant was a Michelin star! Sank the boat Rolling with laughter
The starter was a whole (smallish) lobster. Absolute perfect and satisfied my twenty year quest to find a good lobster. Was only €54.00 … Shocked . Riz de veau, fantastic, Would do it again tomorrow..a great meal.

Sounds like you had a great trip Bill.

We'll be taking the 405 over to France in a couple of weeks time, then again in August for a wedding. I can't think of a better vehicle to do it in. Kev

Enjoy your trips!

In the south they drive as if they are Londoners /Parisians , all over the place and fairly aggressive. Much more controlled as we travelled north , fast but considerate.

Did collect a dose of covid when I tested this morning… arrived back last night. The sun is shining and it’s summer. Easy to get caught out. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Have a good trip Stan - Waze & Tag is a winning combo Thumbs Up

It's nice to have a moderate queue at the toll booth so that you feel maximum tag value Smile If it gets too busy, then sometimes you're caught up before you can even get to a tag lane - in those circumstances, remember that the tag only 30kph lanes are usually on both ends, so the right lane with the trucks is sometimes a better bet Thumbs Up

I travelled a couple of weeks ago - had to upload proof of vaccine to the EuroTunnel site but that was all - There was an unvaccinated option but I didn't look at that.

Other than that, just a few queues - the passport checks seem to have really slowed things down. Though I know other people who travelled last week & it was straight through for them.

No it was really easy, as Alister said up load a snapshot of your nhs third jab to euro tunnell & it’s plain sailing.

Some road works ( operation stack ) will slow u down a little on the U.K. side.

Coming back on a Friday , very light traffic on euro tunnell, but still took us about 90 minutes from arrival to loaded, which is longer than normal. Despite being very fast off the mark, we were third from last on our train, others were held back . I guess it varies day by day. May of been a sudden surplus of coaches which get priority.

Enjoy the trip Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Stan I have been over half a dozen times this year and did one trip without flexiplus and it took a fair bit longer as said the passport takes a little longer but some days it was dead easy others a pain and definitely Waze and tag and as Alistair mentioned dont forget the 30 lanes on both ends not just the left Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

morning Sandy..been and have come back..

tag worked very well, didnt use waze as i couldnt preload destinations so google maps was the choice for navigating..

eurotunnel was very quick on the way back, got a train 2 hours earlier...

i'll do a write up and post pics when i get all the pics from my other 5 travellers. ... - .- -.
