Tailgate won’t open…

Following the appearance of multiple warning lights (see other thread)….the electric tailgate will not open. I’ve tried the three options - button on upper tailgate, button on handset and button on lower dashboard - none of these open it. I can’t see any fuse listed in the handbook. I can’t climb into the boot area as the car has executive rear seating. Can anybody help with this please? Thanks

One thing you might consider is to call LR Assist or LR Customer Relations, even if you don't have a LR warranty on the car. When I was stranded in a field one evening, with LR Assist long expired, I called LRA for some advice to be given to the recovery person and was given helpful and practical advice which solved the problem. The operatives at LRCR latterly have just been telephonists that read off the website, but in the past it was possible to get access to someone from the factory with expert knowledge in the relevant area. It will cost little to try, and your fallback will remain getting the car transported to the nearest dealer. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Thanks CS, I called LR Assist (the AA apparently), they couldn’t help but recommended that I contact the AA Technical Department as I am a member. I did this but they couldn’t come up with anything helpful.

Surely Land Rover must have built in a tailgate back up solution to suit their executive seating layout!

The tailgate backup solution is to stop folk getting locked in the boot, not for assisting entry if the lock fails...

Don't know what the 405 is like but can you not remove the headrests, put the seat backs as far forward as possible and remove the parcel shelf to gain entry...?? Pete
