Baby oil

My aged neighbour 2doors down from me was chatting to me last night, turns out he used to work in a dealership (Vauxhall from memory), anyway he was telling me that to get plastic back to black for sales they used to use baby oil!

I thought no more of it until 20mins ago my wife called me and asked why Colin (name changed to protect him!) was looking round my car, so I popped out and he’d gone over all of the black plastic with baby oil! It does look good to be fair, no idea how long it will last…..and I haven’t dared ask why at the age of 80 he has copious amounts of baby oil Shocked L322 TD6 2003

I use baby oil to good effect to keep the vinyl soft top hood and tonneau cover on my MG soft and supple. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
