About to order - advice sought - D350 ?

Dear All,

Whilst on a 2 week holiday, decided to take the plunge and order the new FFRR. Will be through Beadles in Watford - quoting 12 months but could be longer, etc

Now the dilemma I have is which engine. Currently have a RRS MY2016 3.0 diesel and suffer from the oil dilution issue due to my wife doing short journeys - still love the car even with the added oil and filter changes. Would I have the same issue with the D350 ? Any of the petrol / hybrid options worth considering ? My budget is around £120k max so the nicely specced D350 comes within this frame.

Thanks in advance and learned a lot already though this forum - colour choice is currently Portofino with the deep garnet interior.

Thanks
Prashan

The three different engines price up around the same ball park. Looking more like the D350 for me.

The D350 is very pleasant to drive, and the engine suits the car well. But in their "help me choose" section on the LR website, the diesels are said to suit those doing lots of motorway driving and who want the best towing performance. The PHEVs are recommended for those who do lots of short urban journeys and who have their own charging infrastructure and the P400 for those whose driving is like that but who do not have their own charging infrastructure. There is no comment on the P530, but it is probably not in your budget anyway, even if one could order one other than in SV form just now.

Have a look at the Harry's Garage youtube video about the P400 PHEV (L405, the 4cyl 2-litre but still useful as regards the PHEV concept).

From what you say about your existing use maybe one of the PHEVs would suit, if you have access to charging? If not, maybe try the P400MHEV and see if it is OK? It is the lightest L460 so maybe drives OK compared with the others even though it has a bit less power? Only Range Rovers since 1988

Many thanks CS - need to look at the site more - from your recommendation, looks like the PHEV for me. Have a Taycan on order through the works salary sacrifice scheme so all hooked up to a charge point at home.

Will check out the YouTube piece too.

Thanks again
Prashan

Many thanks again CS - thanks to your good self and the recommendations, I will be ordering the 440PHEV.

Can’t wait and will get over not being able to order the 23” alloys.

Best wishes
Prashan
