Thanks for the heads up, I obviously have the original ones...

I'll get some new ones ordered. Where did you get yours from?

Dan I have a set of the newer nuts. If you are near Southampton one day, then drop me a line and you can have them.

Guys do you bother with a light board? I made my own bike rack to keep the bike as close to the car as possible but I thought it should have a light board so I made one of those too.
I have to say it's very rough engineering but it works and I wanted to keep it close in because of ferry length restrictions. Needless to say i can't open the back when it's on but taking the bike off only takes a couple of seconds in fact taking the rack off only takes a couple of seconds Rolling with laughter
I'll post pics if anyone is interested. Geoff

I do have one in the garage, not sure if I'll use it tbh... I have a garden trailer I've done 1000's of miles with that doesn't have a #plate, my argument is that you can see my numberplate perfectly well (when it's empty at any rate) and have never been stopped by the popo. I also drive round with the tailgate down and things hanging out the back weekly, and again, with no #plate visible I've never been given a tug.

If I were to take the bike far, like over 100 miles then I may "consider" it, but likely come to the same conclusion. If I ever get stopped I'll be like "Oh Censored !? Has it fallen off?"

I don't think the plod are so anal round here, cant remember the last time I saw a traffic nazi. Our police have propper jobs.
