Meridian Signature - worth every penny

There hasn’t been a huge amount published on this feature but I’m genuinely exceptionally impressed with the ultra-premium sound system on L460. It feels like a significant step up from the L405 top end system.

The biggest benefit to me is the noise cancelling - initially I thought this would be a gimmick but I was recently in a friend’s D350 HSE and the difference is so noticeable. Whilst the standard car is refined and quiet, the sound system combined with the P530 engine on mine makes it sublime.

Yes, it’s a lot of money, but if you can I’d recommend spending the extra £££ on the Signature sound system!

Although it’s great to hear it’s worth the money, is it worth the wait? The shortage of Audio Amplifier Modules for the signature system is causing an additional 6+ month delay to any order with this system.

100% agree. Mine was a launch vehicle D350 HSE and whilst it wasn’t listed on the specification sheet from the dealers it found it’s way into my car!

My view would be wait, its worth every penny I have always gone with the top spec hifi, the giveaway clue is the rear speakers in the seat backs and silver grills on speaker covers in doors.

so yes 100% it is worth the wait Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I agree reference the wait. It significantly transforms the interior ambience of the car even when no music is playing.

I'm only ordering the basic SE, but dealer GM removed the upgraded Meridian because the wait was so long. Not sure if the upgrade is worth it to me. I think the noise cancelling was only low for the upgraded system in the SE. I play a lot of podcasts, so not sure it is worth the extra wait or cost...

I've never been an audio guy myself. Usually whatever is standard is good enough.

Angus,

Is that 6+ months delay on the Amplifier for the Signature sound system accurate?
I knew it was on the “constraints” list, but had no idea it could be that long a delay !!

I really do want the Autobiography, but an extra 6+ months wait is a major issue.

Kind regards

we've had our Autobiography now for 2 weeks and a couple of observations:

1. not sure about the 6 months wait for the signature system, but clearly autobiographies are coming through because we got ours.
2. as I've commented on another thread we test drove an HSE and whilst very quiet the noise cancelling on ours was clearly, and noticeably better. I was baffled at first and though my mind/ears were playing tricks on me, but with a bit of delving it was clear the 3D surround in the HSE has noise cancelling at a "low" setting and the signature at a "high" setting

the signature system for us is very very worthwhile

best, BigFiat

Hi BigFiat,

Thanks for your sharing your experience.
Great to hear you have had your ATB for a couple of weeks now - what a lucky fellow you are.

When did you place your order as a matter of interest?
I ordered my PHEV on 27th January; the day it went live on the Configurator.
So mine will have been on order 7 months tomorrow.

Cheers

Hi Richard, I placed my deposit in July 2021 in anticipation of the launch, but didn’t spec it until the week after announcement (early October 21). So whilst the early deposit may have got me up the dealers allocation, in reality i waited c 10months from spec to delivery.

All the best of luck getting slotted and built

Hi,

Thanks, I will keep positive about a possible 10 month timeframe.

My dealership wouldn’t take a deposit until the model I wanted became live for a orders, as they said it wouldn’t make any difference to the lead time.
I tried from the original launch in October 2021!

The Sales guy is still ‘confident’ my car will arrive before the calendar year end, which would tally with a 10-11 month lead time.
We will see …..

Cheers

I think the crucial difference is that the Signature system has active noise cancellation in the 4 main headrests.

How many miles have you put on it? it looks like 10 miles is the same as 2000 miles on Autotrader.
