Australia 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black
Star Gazing

Decided to go on a little Star gazing trip, the longest so far in my 3.6. About 400k`s north from home in the wheat-belt farming region are many granite rock outcrops where farming skirts around. These areas are generally elevated, surrounded by natural bushland and are far from light pollution. With perfect weather and clear skies I made the trip with only GPS co-ordinates of this specific area. I was told there would be an abundance of wildflowers in bloom, plenty of firewood and complete solitude. This was true, 3 days of seclusion and the stars were just sensational. Plenty of shooting stars with a couple better than many fireworks. The Rangie never missed a beat, showed 10.7l to 100k which is around 26.4mpg for the trip, the trailer 2 ton fully loaded.

Very nice spot - I've had that kind of solitude a few times and it's well worth the effort in getting there. I didn't have the luxury of a trailer though!
