Aftermarket Deployable Steps

Hi All,

Has anyone fitted aftermarket deployable steps to a car around 2019 year? The JLR instructions and aftermarket ones for earlier years show a spare connector you plug in a new wiring loom and an ECU to control the steps. But later year JLR instructions say to remove a current ECU that's for the deployable towbar, bin it and fit a new one that does steps and towbar, then coded it?
