Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino

Nothing to do with me, but I’m of an age that one of these makes me go weak at the knees 🤣

Located in Chesterfield, so must have been the one I saw at a show just before Covid…

Totally agree mate, as well as the Escorts, and Capri used in the Professionals, and Granada in the Sweeney, don’t make them like that any more, shame

my mate bought a mk2 cortina two door, in bright red, with a Starsky and Hutch white sprayed flash along the side, and over the roof! this was in around 1982... it also had deep fur along the dashboard, and those little dangly fabric knot things you got around the bottom of lampshades, hanging off the sunvisors, and lower dash. we quickly dispensed with all the inside stuff, but had to hand t-cut the white flash off, and it took forever. and the wolfrace wheels were like those on this car too.
-a different era! car was bought in Brixton!

Cool. Wish I had the spare money to buy it and enjoy it. Way cheaper than a General Lee 😱🤣.

I have won an auction this morning for a 1:18 scale version.

I got a Corgi Vanguards 1:43 scale of Doyle’s RS2000 too…..

I’m following the chap on Facebook who owns and has fully restored the Consul used on The Sweeney.

United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

I love these old TV cars too. It's fab that the original Sweeney Granada (Consul) is still about, I'd not heard of that. I used to have loads of MK1 Grandads in the 80s and 90s. Loved them!

I recall the MK3 Cortina used in Life on Mars was on eBay a while back, IIRC it was about £12k. I was very tempted. I wanted to take it back to the rear of Debenhams in Manchester and do the Gene Hunt reversing through some cardboard boxes with a bacon butty. Rolling with laughter

My claim to celebrity car fame is I owned a Merc 380SEC that was Harry Secombe's and a Merc 500SEC that was Syd Little's. No match for a Gran Torino though... 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

Nice one. If you want to see more of The Sweeneys Consul, search FB for Mr Shifters Consul.
