New L322 owner with lots to do (kinda)

Hello all,

been lurking the forums for 3 weeks now since getting my '56 Range Rover Vogue. So far i'm very happy with it although as with all my cars, I'm on a modding mission already.

Car has been well looked after, had all of the usual work done that you'd hope (new rear brakes, lines, compressor, airbags, gearbox oil changed every year with the service, both EGR valves replaced etc) so I am somewhat fortunate I can rule out at least some of the usual issues associated with these beasts (for a few months at least!). Since having it I've already identified that one of the top intercooler hoses had a split, so I've fixed that with silicone pipes and now the right angled intercooler hose that goes into the engine has got a 1" split in it also, so I eagerly awat the replacement pipe to come! Car has been remapped by Quantum Tuning so it doesn't half shift.

Prior to this I've always had faster/big engined cars (3L V6 406 Coupe, Tesla Model 3 LR, 3L V6 Audis and a 5L V10 TT Touareg to name a few).

As you can see from the pics, I've...
- Tinted the windows
- Replaced the Venturecam battery
- Replaced front grill
- Replaced side vents
- Upgraded side indicators to LED 'explosion' indicators
- Replaced rear lights and reverse lights
- Changed green LR logo to black
- Replaced rear Range R ver letters to black Range Rover
- Capped doorhandles with matt black handles (original handles all scratched with paint flake etc.)

Yes I know that the front grill doesn't match the headlights - but I'm not spending a small fortune to get black backed headlights Very Happy

I didn't like the glossy black grill and side vents, so I used plastikote to get them to be satin after doing the same on my old A4 Avant which had chrome roof rails and window trim.

On the list to do is fit side steps, full paint correction, change bonnet letters to be black, rust removal where possible, upgrade rear camera (doesn't always work), blank/digi delete EGR valves and block off, then do a full set of fluid changes. Should keep me out of mischief!!!

Yep, lots of ways to personalise "your" car, just be careful you don't get carried away and get a visit from the "taste" police... Thumbs Up Pete

Damn, you mean I have to send the neon underlights, go faster stripes, furry dice and 22" spinning rims back?!

Suppose I'd best get this sorted first :-/

Lots of black smoke and lack of power sucks.

Sound advice - I've duct taped it up good and proper, will use my other car until the replacement part lands Smile

hahaha, beauty is in the eye of the beholder....right? Don't worry, subtle mods are more my thing, to each their own Very Happy
