Car alarm sounding whilst driving?

Good morning gentlemen. In the past 3 or 4 weeks my L322 Supercharged has started to sound the alarm whilst I’m driving. Anything from 1 time to as many as 4 times on a 45 minute journey. No lights or warnings on the dash, and the car continues to drive perfectly well. Anyone got any thoughts on what might be the problem? I was toying with the idea of a hard reset, but I cannot seem to find a thread that details how I would do that. Or am I way of track with that idea?

A hard reset is disconnecting the battery terminals and then touching the cables together for 10 or so seconds if I remember right.

Something strange there then, have you got a diagnostic tool, though I’m not sure it would log an issue… wondering about the damp or a bad earth. I’m pretty sure that if the alarm was activated legitimately it would have immobilised which makes me think some sort of short or something on the sounder?

I’m no expert though….

It's just the overweight alarm for the drivers seat

I had this, as well as the alarm going off randomly at night - no lights or indicators - just the sounder. Spent ages trying to trace an issue, as well as replacing a perfectly good battery. In the end, I just removed Fuse 36.

Thank you chaps, I’ll have to check online for a hard reset. If that fails, I’ll have a look at the fuse 36 suggestion. Thumbs Up
