Osram D3S Night Breakers

Has anyone upgraded their bulbs to these? I’m conscious mine are 10 years old now yet they still seem fine but just wondered if these are worth the extra money?

Can't speak to latest Osram's, but the new Philips xenon HID DS3's are very satisfying. 2012 Supercharged L322

I fitted a set of them just a couple of months ago after one of my bulbs died. Definitely an upgrade seeing as my bulbs were the original ones Laughing

I've had a pair of the D1S OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKERs for the last 3 years in my 2007MY 3.6TDV8.
They're stated +70% extra light than standard Xenon bulbs& were a big improvement on the original standard bulbs - definitely worth the money.

The bulbs you refer to are allegedly +200% - which I find almost hard to believe as it should mean they're 3 times brighter than standard ! As Osram is normally a reputable. big manufacturer, I assume they're confident they can justify the figures.
If the figures are true, the bulbs ought to be amazing if the light is focussed where it should be.
EDIT : Just re-read the advert : I've no idea what +200% now means, as it only says +200% more than the legal MINIMUM standard ! It coulld still be the same as the +70% more light of my older Nightbreakers - lol

PS Are you confident your's takes D3S rather than D1S ?
D3s uses much lower voltage, but I thought only cam in on later cars Paul,

i was looking at buying a pair for my 2012... i wanted original Osram's but found that they cross match with a couple of mercedes fitments... so i managed to get a pair in sealed mercedes boxes, for about 20 quid, via a sale on eBay... sort of a seller selling a spare set.

sorry, can't confirm that. were in dealer type mercedes boxes... may have been looking at bulbs, standard.. osrams etc. but was initially interested in brighter ones. i just didn't want to buy eBay ones that were in apparent 'Osram knock off' boxes etc... mine had some fogging around the filaments visually...

Definitely d3s as it’s been facelifted.

Hmm so it could all be in the wording as usual!
