I actually went for both……. Dont use the Gt Speed much only in the summer, but the Range Rover is absolutely the complete car for me.

I think that fulfills all the things a chap likes. Similarly, I was just reading another thread here about the many people who seem to have a Porsche as well. I liked the Bentley very much, but I'm not sure I'd use it much if I had a choice of both.

I'm pretty happy with the 405 now I have gotten used to it a bit more. I don't know if anyone can relate or if it's just me, but the 405 seems to encourage one to drive a bit calmer than the L322. I was always quite heavy-footed, but I'm more content to waft about in the 405.

The steering wheel arrived from Craig today (he has more if you want one). I put my plate on already at DVLA but no plates today due to the Royal Mail strike.

It’s not quite the same, but I had a 1995 BMW M5 and an RR Classic 3.9 at the same time, and figured I’d pretty much got all bases covered.

As much as I don’t want to sell mine it’s often nice to see what similar cars go for. 2008 RRS HST - loved the car from 6 months old until a few years old

I take your point on the wheels. To me, they looked like they belonged on a murderer's Discovery. But I think I can live with them for now.

I have no idea. All I know is when I went online to tax it, they asked for £165.

Logic would suggest that whatever it was that caused the rate to reduce (emissions stuff fitted?), there must have been an overlap period. Some cars made a few months earlier registered later and vice versa. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

I thought I'd revisit this a few months later for those that might be interested. I bought the car back end of November 2022, and it's now mid-June 2023, six months later.

And guess what? It hasn't broken yet. I've been darn sauf, and even to France in it and it performed faultlessly.

It seems to use lots of Adblue, which is a magical fluid that does nothing in particular and is a new thing for me. I had to go on Youtube to find out how the cold weather warm-up thingy worked. Now it's hot it seems to cool the car all on its own.

My old L322 knew - as if by magic - where traffic problems are. The new one doesn't. Apparently, I should pay for that.

There is some music that appears from nowhere that belongs to the previous owner it seems. No idea where it comes from. He is still "home" in the sat nav too. I haven't changed it in case someone steals it and wants to burgle a bloke 160 miles away.

The seats feel harder than my old L322, there is no manual as such (online) so I haven't really researched all it can do. It's nice enough but feels more like an appliance than my old L322. It's a Miele washing machine as opposed to something hewn from rock with love like the L322.

I have no specific complaints, it's a great car, and looks very cool, it just doesn't have the *soul* my L322 seemed to have. Maybe that's just me. My wife loves it. Given any chance, she is out of her Evoque and milfing about in it in her heels and shades. I might yet give it to her and buy a Bentley.  2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black
