20 inch alloys vs 21 inch alloys

Looking at a few sets on ebay but in time i would be putting some AT tyres on them so would like to know peoples experiences of both sizes

What do you want to know ?

It's pretty much what you'd expect, 20's are a more forgiving ride, but can be a bit 'looser' on roundabouts if you drive quickly etc etc

Not all tyres available to fit both wheels.

Off road, the taller sidewalls of the 20's may be useful.

Thanks for the reply, that's interesting as from what I've read everyone seems to suggest to stay away from 22's as the ride is too harsh. Im currently on 19's but they look way to small for the car in my opinion.

I’ve got 22” Turbines for normal summer / spring use, and a set of 20” with 285 AT’s for the winter / shooting season. You can now get 22” and 21” AT’s, these are ok on a muddy field, but any deep mud will absolutely trash your rims. Plus the cost of AT’s in this size is bonkers. Personally I would and have got 20” for the AT’s it all depends what you use the vehicle for.

Regarding comfort there is very little in it - I can though certainly tell the difference in road holding - the 22” is far better, yet the 22” do track, and you have to be very careful with kerbs - I have though upped size to 285’s which does help.

I just realised it's a L322 Rolling Eyes

That model was designed for 18-20's whereas the L405 was designed with 22's in mind.

On an L322 I'd most likely stick at 20, particularly with AT's. I did run 22's on one for a while & they were OK on motorways, but a little harsh on anything bumpy.

There's a thread here of people who fitter L405 wheels to L322's so that may give some insight Thumbs Up

you have to let insurance company know you may find they wont insure car check first the size if model fitted out side the size insurance will cancel Question

Insurance companies seem only concerned with wheel sizes away from OE but don't seem to bother with non OE tyre sizes and consequent changes in rolling radius which seems strange. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
