United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Corris Grey
Highly-specced Vogue vs SE vs AB - Why or why not?

OK, this is really for a bit of fun so everyone can have their 2p worth: why do some FFRR purchasers spec up a base model to the hilt, rather than simply go for a higher-spec model?

I was led to make this post after doing the geek thing Embarassed and pricing up my mine to see how much it cost the OP back in 2017. So, options plus car as follows:-

4 zone aircon £915.00
22” wheels & tyres £2600.00
Ambient Lighting £240.00
Black Painted Roof £520.00
Ebony Headliner £315.00
Foot Pedal Metallic £160.00
Tghnd Privacy glass. £315.00
Large washer tank £35.00
Full size Spare £260.00
Wood/Lth.St.Wheel £485.00
Mud Flaps £284.00
Deployable Steps £3270.00
RR VOGUE (2017) £84195.00
Total: £93594.00 Shocked

That’s more than an SE then by quite some margin, and only £801 short of an AB!

Why would he do that, do you think? Does it make sense, or is it utter nonesense?

(Of course, if I add on my own recent “big brakes” upgrade (an unavailable/unpriceable option) at approx. £5K, then we are nearly at a £100K Vogue Embarassed )

I must say, the car suits me, and the OP must have given serious thought into it at the time, however maybe he thought too much about what he wanted, and not necessarily about what he was missing out on? Whistle Mr. Green “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Ours is a Vogue that’s well spec’d too. Not dissimilar spec to yours, with the odd variance hither and thither, plus ours has the less common electrically deployable towbar. We are the second owner. First owner was landed gentry. No idea why he spec’d a Vogue up, quite happy he did though Laughing Thumbs Up

Was a Pano roof std on the Vogue in 2017 - if not why on earth was that not spec'd.

Mad not to spend an extra 800 squid and have a top of the shop model.

Could it be lead times were different and the OP was just impatient?

@ajac8:

Fixed Pano roof is standard, glad I don’t have the opening one, one less thing to worry about as the car ages…… Whistle “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I could be wrong, but most of the things you listed are not standard on an SE or AB either.

So the original purchaser added the things they wanted in preference to some of the things that come with an SE or AB that they didn't value as much - eg. cooled seats or uprated music system.
