I have L405 vogue with 22" wheels, will 285/45/22 tyres fit or am I best sticking to 40's. Car is currently having a cracked wheel repaired.
At the moment it has 285/35/22 which I don't like.

Well it would physically fit but not recommended as it will change the rolling circumference by 57mm (7.52%) which will up your speedo etc

If you want more sidewall then you need to go narrower. 265 40 22 is only 12.5mm (1.65%) different so you could do that but I dont know if the rim will allow that narrow a tyre. Otherwise you need to change rims to 21 or 20 inch to allow for a taller tyre.

Cracked ? I assume its a copy / replica / after market one ? I've not heard of genuine wheels cracking.

The factory sizes are 275 or 285/40/22 so I'd be sticking with those.

As above, a 45 profile would likely physically fit, but starts to affect other things - and you should inform your insurance if using non-standard sizes

When I asked my insurer ( Admiral) they were only interested in deviation from OE wheel sizes but had no interest in non OE tyre sizes. This may vary with insurers and I know for sure in some non UK countries you must use OE tyre and wheel combinations. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

My L405 came with genuine 22" wheels - one with a big crack.

I changed to 20" wheels, they were much more comfortable but looked wrong - much too small for the car.

I finally went to 21" wheels, and found this is by far the best compromise between looks and comfort. The ride comfort is much better than the 22", tyres last longer, the tyres are cheaper when replacements are needed, and no more cracked wheels. I love the look of the turbines, but the LR098798's look almost as good and make the car so much better. Current:
