I got stuck in the mountains because the water that had come into the actuator froze solid. Then, the parking brake couldn’t be released. After a night in a warm garage it was OK again. I decided to replace both actuators and they were both full of water. I fitted the new ones with more grease which hopefully will seal better. If it still happens again, I will drill a drain hole at the bottom. They are easy to take on and off, so it’s probably a good idea to check if you live in a cold area. Just push them well in before you tighten the screws. If you try to pull them in with the screws, the ears will snap off. ----------

Wales 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Firenze Red

Just fitted these on both sides £26 each and 10 mins labour each side.
Just going into off-road height and a couple of low ramps was enough to gain access.

Only problem was the connector on the cable was a bit loose (as a bit of plastic has broken) so added a small cable tie to secure it. Upgraded from a Defender. Having a working heater is bloody luxury Smile

To anyone else replacing these, note there are two types with different electrical plugs, so get the right ones:

Also refer to WM before tightening, the fastening torque is very low, it’s very easy to
crack the lugs! Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
