Air spring help, can 494 rear airsprings work on the 405

Hello fellow members, wishing everyone well over the festive season and on to 2023..

I have a problem, am 2000km away from home at the worst possible time of year for breakdowns.

My L405 left rear air spring blew. I cannot get an original from JLR in the short term, but can get the sport L494 from Goldwagen as an aftermarket supplier.

Their website states the D4, 494 and L405 rear air springs as equivalent. I know that on the 494 you have specific L & R part numbers, whereas the L405 is a single part for both sides.

I need to make an urgent decision, I am not in a ‘short’ travel solution to collect the replacements so physical whereabouts are hampering a quick easy repair, it really is an ‘away from home’ impractical complication..

This said, I am writing in this forum requesting feedback if anyone on here would know if it is true that I can use the 494 rear air springs on my 405.

Your feedback is truly appreciated, thanking all of you in advance!

Best Regards - Marco

A search on the part number for the MY13 L405 rear air-spring LR034262 only reveals L405 fitment. If the L494 and L405 were interchangeable then I would have expected to see fitment to both vehicles.
