Hi all the smell this morning was shocking inside the car noticed it more when stationary obviously not very healthy to be inhaling. I got out lifted the bonnet and the wisp off smoke was coming from back centre of engine not full on smoke but slight wisping.Thoughts possibly oil cooler dripping any other ideas?

The cross-over pipe is wrapped in a protective covering. Hence dripping oil doesn't drip directly onto hot steel pipe, instead onto hot material that causes the oil to vaporize more slowly, exactly as you describe.
