Lead time between ‘unslotted’ and delivery?

Hi All, I have a L460 AB on order from February 2022.

Have been told by the dealer to expect a ‘summer 2023’ delivery. The car is currently in an ‘unslotted status’.

Based on recent experience, can anyone kindly advise me how far in advance of delivery I should expect to be told it’s ‘slotted’ then built?

Thanks in advance!

In my personal experience (I expect this wildly differs), I heard from the dealer on 1st Nov 22 that the build had been slotted for 9th Dec. This was then delayed until 6th Jan and now have been told it is built and on its way to the dealer. Hopefully can collect in the next couple of weeks, so it's been 2.5-3 months but that is with a month of delay.

Mine was built last November and still hasn’t arrived at the dealer despite many promises of delivery. Timing is completely random. Expect to be disappointed and you’ll be fine. MY23 D350 HSE

There is a lot of 'Work In Progress' cars from what I've heard which essentially means having the car built doesn't always mean the car will come through in a timely fashion. Some can sit there for weeks awaiting missing bits of repairs!

That describes my situation. I have a contact in JLR who is kindly providing updates but can't tell me the reason for the 2 month (so far) delay in delivery. I've decided I'm not registering mine now until March and the new reg, so am sitting back and waiting. MY23 D350 HSE

I put my deposit down with my dealer in early October 2021, and my car is also still "unslotted".

I've long since stopped thinking about it, assuming that it could come at any time, but more likely it won't come until much later in 2023.

Extremely frustrating, but it's partly my fault for ordering such a highly spec'd car. Of course, if I knew then what I know now, I'd have just gone for anything, even "base" spec. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Finally heard that mine has been 'accepted by sales' at the factory and therefore is due for delivery to the dealer anytime now. The dealer will need it for a few days, which means end of Jan delivery to me. However, I'm away for most of Feb so I have delayed pickup until early March and the new plate reg. MY23 D350 HSE
