Another Battery Thread!!

Ive read a lot of posts about batteries and the symptoms of them failing but I've read conflicting solutions so I want to ask a simple question and hopefully get a simple answer

My car gives me the low battery / start engine message and the tailgate doesnt always raise fully and also the lower tailgate doesnt fully close all of the time, it needs a push.

From what I have read this combined with the battery message indicates a low and failing battery.

So I am finally getting to my simple question Razz :

What battery should be replaced? The main battery or the auxiliary battery?

thank you. Bow down

#2,

If I dare to repeat it again: "The tailgate is the Barometer for battery SOC on the L405"

There, I've said it! Mr. Green “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Ha ha, wish I had read that a while ago. You're right!

I fixed my "tailgate problem" with a CTEK battery conditioner.

Hi RRV8SC:

You may find like me it’s not a permanent solution.
Better to change the battery sometime before you need to leave the car at an airport for 2 weeks………

If the battery is knackered it’s knackered - no reconditioner can fix a worn out battery - they are cheap just fit a new one and have done with it before it really lets you down in a most inconvenient location and at a really awkward time when you really need the vehicle 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Thanks all,

How do we know which battery to order?
Might just replace both batteries if anyone has any recommendations.

Thanks

My 2018 also had low battery issues when I bought it. I bought a CTEK and 2 years later and the battery, it's still going good. Like all FF they are power users and I usually need to do a charge every 2-3 months. The dashcam also takes its toll Whistle
