***Update***
I have spoken with LR and got the following information.
This relates to Service Action Number N350
"Pass by noise in lapsed special programmes mode"

Apparently it is not a recall but a service action, if you speak with your local dealer then they will outline what the issue is, if it proves to be an issue then they will rectify at no cost.
Quiteb what it relates to I do not know but I will try and find out.

I think JLR might have got their wires crossed somewhere - I had "Pass by noise in lapsed special programmes mode" on a jag a couple of years ago and it related to exhaust noise control on start up.
It might relate to your engine but I doubt the diesels are included.
I may be wrong as JLR never make mistakes!

You may well be right.
The only thing that swayed me was the speed with which they came up with the answer.........no signs of fudging at all.
I suppose we have to go onwards and upwards.
Will be interesting to see what variance there is with other folks who contact LRCS

This was a thing on petrol Jags a while back.

When the noisy exhaust button was pressed, it stayed in noisy mode

Apparently, this was against regulations, so had an update to revert back to "quiet" mode after ignition off/on cycle Thumbs Up

Does it give any detail of what the recall is about by any chance??

I have received the following reply from LRCS:

Dear Mr ◼️

Thank you for contacting Jaguar Land Rover Customer Experience Centre on the 5th January 2023.

Unfortunately we can only confirm as I have already done via email that you have no outstanding recalls or service actions.

The DVSA website can be generic and are not always vehicle identification number (VIN) number specific. We can not effect their systems.

As also previously advised if you are experiencing any concern with your vehicle please make a booking with your local or preferred Jaguar Land Rover retailer and they will be able to make a diagnosis to any concern you may have.

I can only apologise however I am unable to provide any further support on this occasion in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Dawn Northall
UK Customer Experience Centre

It’s like Banging Head getting them to look at possible deeper reporting issues rather than just mine being a single issue. Not sure how the local dealer will be able to make a diagnosis when my concern is the disparity between LR Topix system and the govt MOT website

It would be really helpful to see the contents of the letter SVAuto_Man has received before I take the car for its service and MOT next week on Tuesday 10th. SVAuto_Man are you willing to share your letter?

Many thanks.

I tried to ring LR customer services a couple of time today but I get a bit bored when waiting for more than a few minutes so gave up.
I'll try again next week

*****bump*****

Has anyone else received a letter advising of a recall?
Maybe they or SV could give us an idea of the content of the letter?
Thanks all

The car has been in for it service and passed the MOT without any advisories. Yeah!

The dealer said there are no outstanding recalls on their system when they checked yesterday. However the MOT website is now giving a 3rd different date (6th January) for the recall. I will email DVSA with screenshots of the 3 different dates and ask them for their comments. I will keep you posted when I get a reply. You can't swim uphill in custard all the time, sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

DVSA has acknowledged my email. They say they have forwarded my enquiry to their Vehicle Safety Branch who will endeavour to respond to you within 5 working days.

I will keep you posted. You can't swim uphill in custard all the time, sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

DVSA have responded this afternoon with the following:

Good Afternoon Mr ◼️

I hope your well and thank you for your enquiry, I have discussed this issue with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and they have confirmed that there are no outstanding recalls for your vehicle however the information they have provided via gov.uk recall checker service is incorrect. JLR are currently investigating the cause of this error and will have the information updated and corrected as soon as possible.

In regards to the date shown on the recall page, this relates to when updates have been made to the recall data and not when a recall applies to the vehicle, please accept my apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

Regards
Mark

It sounds like someone at JLR doesn’t know what they are doing when updating the gov recall data base. I will give it a month then check the data base again. Fingers crossed it will then show correctly.

Good news at last.

Just checked the gov MOT website and it is now saying my vehicle has no outstanding recalls. Hoorah and thank you, eventually, to JLR.
