Thank you, Dingg1 Very Happy

We (actually my friend, not me!) followed your advice and swapped over the insulator things.

We (including me) hadn't spotted that the new ones have a fat washer to remove first that then allows enough thread to put the insulator on.

We got lucky and the weights came off very easily.

So Reggie retains some of his originality after all!

Thanks again.

Well the new struts are on and working perfectly Very Happy

The original struts seem fine but for a leak in the o/s airbag and age-related perishing but no leak on the n/s one.

Built December 2006 and truly only covered 60k road-only miles.

I plan to take them to our local dump but it seems such a waste.

Can anyone here put them to good use?

Best wishes to all

R the RR

As a supplement to this post :
Dunlop were the OE supplier for the pre-Facelift cars & Delphi OE for post Facelift.
Hence both being identified as OEM with its currently corrupted use.

Although BWI bought out Delphi suspension division some while ago & quality still seems OK.
I'm pretty confident the damping rates aren't the same as OE.
I changed my OE Delphis for BWI last year & there's no way the damping / suspension control is as good as a 3.6TDv8 L322 RR was when new (all of the remainder of my front suspension is also new - using OE Lemforder bushes / ball joints) Paul,
