Doesn't really change overall mpg that much as it's only for a short time. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Scotland 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Firenze Red

2013 SDV8.

My first trip in it, 700 miles Cornwall to NE Scotland, dual carriageway/motorway on 75mph cruise setting most of the time, 32.5mpg (calculated tankfuls brim to brim, ignored the computer reading).

Pretty happy with that!

older 4.4V8 petrol / lpg
Trip computer showing 15mpg just shuffling around locally. Tend too ignore it as only burning gas after initial 2-3 miles *and* the range to empty barely changes. The cost off lpg is creeping up, will 98.9 at nearest and 91.9 7 miles further. Hoped to get full tank reading while collecting Rover bonnet from Scotland but wouldn't fit inside and hired van. Surprised to report 35mpg easily achieved in new Transit and reasonable to drive ( for one day ).

Thanks for the tip on Feulio APP , now I might get a real measure.

It’s great that lpg never shot up in price like petrol/diesel

Two tanks recently (trip miles) - 2012 4.4TDV8

Local short journeys and a couple of short Mway trips/45 miles. Then all the way down to Cornwall, around all the small country lanes and hilly parts = 29.5mpg

Only half a tank back, a mix of 60-65 cruising and (a lot!) overtaking speeds = 30.5mpg over about 250 miles

England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

90 mile trip to Grantham down the M62 and A1

Was in no rush so set the cruise for 65mph... I don't usually bother with how much fuel it uses, when it's empty I fill it up...!!

Thought this was pretty good for a 4.4SDV8 though....

Germany

4.4 TDV8, over the last 12k KM:

Local/rural (daily running around) 11.2 l/100km, so around 25 mpg (uk)

Autobahn cruising 130km/h 9.6 l/100km (29-30mpg)

Figures calculated, not indicated.

I do have the dreaded EGR sensor fault which I’m about to tackle, so I hope to see a bit of improvement! -------------------------

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV6 Indus Silver

I suggest the only real way to find overall mpg over a period of time rather than individual journeys is to use an App such as Road Trip SE (Lite). It requires inputting the mileage and litres every time you fill up to get the mpg data. it's surprisingly different to what the car indicates. -----------------------------------------------

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Sumatra Black

On my recent trip up into Scotland in my TDV8 4.4 between Manchester and Glasgow (all motorway) I averaged 40 mpg.

Though that was at a very steady 60 mph with cruise set.....

On the A9 up into Aviemore from Pitlochry it was closer to 50 mpg staying at 50.

I never really enjoy doing 70 especially when I have absolutely no rush to get to my destination.

Just my 2 pennies worth........

Deduct 7-10% from the mpg readout to get the real figure but it's still impressive for the engine size and shape of the car which unsurprisingly means that when you go nearer 70 and over the mpg drops dramatically. I've said it before but these cars are very expensive to run but driven sensibly the fuel costs are not much greater than any other large engined diesel. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
