Ulez not compliant

So I've got a subaru impreza wrx that was originally imported into this country in 2004 and registered as a 2001 plate.

Given I work inside the ulez zone, I'm curious to find out if there's any information on how I can make my subaru ulez complaint. I was told the import cars don't show the original emissions on the log book so you can get around it that way. The NOx levels are supposed to be below 0.08 I believe. Looking in the log book is shows no details of any emissions.

Anyone else got any suggestions on what too do

Cheers all

I also have a Subaru, an outback though and a uk car

But what I have found is the - Uk legacy group on Facebook really helpful (not to much dump valves and value tire burn outs) there is a huge amount of experience on that group with imports, join and ask that group, I tired a few others before that one

It’s worth applying to TFL direct if it’s saying it’s not compliant on their website.

They will ask for evidence that it should be exempt, and the probability is that it should as its petrol, post 2001 which is the absolute cut off and it a search may show that other wrx are exempt. I just pulled a Reg of one which was for sale a 2002 Wrx uk300 and that was exempt on the checker. See if you can find more and you may have a case to just get them to exempt it.

You will have to send pics of the car etc so it will need to look standard......

I had to apply to them for my sdv8 as it was on a private plate and not recognised by the system. Took a few weeks but was easily sorted. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Cheers nmj. I'll start doing some digging around. Now you say that I'll try my old impreza n see what that says. I wonder if the UK model meets the standard as they have the emissions recorded where as the imports wasn't recorded

That’s could be an angle.

I did also try a JDM car and it wasn’t compliant, but as the specs are pretty similar then I can’t fathom
A good reason you couldn’t make the argument at least to tfl. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just too follow up on this thread. Turns out the impreza is compliant but in order too do this you need to request a certificate of conformity (COC) form. The current guide lines are that any vehicle entering the ulez zone must produce 0.08mg/per km or less. Luckily the impreza runs at 0.05mg.

To get my Elise through which doesn’t have nox on the log book but is compliant, I also had to supply a signed certificate of conformity from lotus that had the vin & reg on, even then they rejected it at first.

ULEZ was actually easier to achieve than the other clean air zones, that was a fair bit more work but ultimately the same documentation. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
