Agree, but no-one has any idea how they are driven / treated. Low miles might be he only drives one 100 mile journey every week as apposed to short city driving.

The high mile one might be driven to an inch of its life, its all just your luck.

DPF issue (if they arise) wont be a problem for long, neither will egr stuff. SDV8

The market is still in a funny place at the moment.

Having received another derisory offer from WBAC I decided to waste an afternoon and see if a deal could be done on a 2018 L405 Vogue SE I spotted at a dealer.

The Vogue had covered 10k more miles than my Sport but was a year younger and was an L405 so I expected to have to part with some of my hard earned. I wasn’t quite prepared for how much. Best and final offer on cost to change was £16000 Shocked

When I questioned that I thought it was a pretty poor offer the salesman seemed somewhat surprised and rattled on about supply and demand. I pointed out that supply and demand would also dictate that my Sport would go on his forecourt for £10k more than he was offering me and whilst I understood everyone needs to put food on the table I don’t think he needed fillet steak every night for his tea!!

I’m amazed the car market is even functioning at the moment with these kind of deals on offer. I don’t particularly like my Sport but I don’t hate it that much Neutral

Yeah I have found the same with BMW and Audi dealers. Very greedy. I think with all the PCP and lease stuff no-one seems to care, all they look at is the monthly. Very expensive.

I used to do PCP when the interest rate was just about acceptable but not anymore. Crazy way to buy a car when you sit down and work it out.

Luckily I am an EX mechanic with a ramp in my garden garage, so buying private and maintain it myself is no issue. I feel for people buying these cars and keeping them on the road without dealer support. They have you over a barrel. SDV8

Private prices of L405 are, in many cases, simply pie in the sky. I have been tracking some that have been for sale for months and months, they don't sell as they are asking above dealer prices!

There are deals to be had from Main Dealers though.

I recently bought a 2019 Facelift 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography, 54k miles, two years LR Approved warranty, 1 years VED (£520), fixed side steps fitted for me (£1300)- cost £54500.

Current WBAC value is £50475, and Motorway value is £54793.

Having bought at an very good price point, am hoping for 2 years of 'reasonable' cost FFRR motoring.[/b] 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

I made it a condition of the sale, I was prepared to pay extra for this, but the dealer wove the additional years warranty into the deal. 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

Interesting thread this. Still contemplating selling up, this is not a for sale thread Shocked Looking at trade in prices of around £23/24 thousand. I look at similar cars for sale and they are about £33/34 thousand. Not a bad mark up that.

Got one. There are cars out there at decent money. Now I have one and driven it. I can see why everyone who owns one thinks it’s worth more. Huge amount of car for little money SDV8
